Other good mail apps.
An honest comparison.

We compare SevenMail with Mimestream, Superhuman and Spark, and with Apple Mail, which comes with your Mac: what they cost, where they run, where your mail goes, and what each does well. Every fact has its source and the date we read it. Where another app is the better choice, we say so.

SevenMail is not released yet. The table marks what is in the beta and what is planned.

Each line is the route as the vendor’s own pages and policy describe it. Where a page does not say, the box says so. This is a description, not a security rating.

Which one is for you?

Five questions. The answer may well be another app, and the rules are listed below the result.

Which devices do you need?
Which mail do you use?
Who reads the mail?
What do you want from AI?
How do you like your inbox?
  • Windows, iPhone or Android: only Spark and Superhuman.
  • Outlook or other providers: Superhuman (Gmail and Outlook) and Spark.
  • A team: Superhuman and Spark.
  • AI on your Mac: SevenMail and Apple Mail. No AI: Mimestream (it lists none) and Spark (its AI is off by default).
  • A board with tasks: SevenMail; none of the others lists one.

How we compare

Sources

We read the vendors’ own pages and policies and note the day. Where a page loads by script or is closed to us, we say so and use a secondary source only as a pointer.

The same rows

Both apps get the same rows. A row we cannot back with a page is left out, not guessed.

Not listed

“Not listed” means the page does not mention it. It does not mean the app cannot do it.

Corrections

If something is wrong, write to support@sevenmail.app. We check it within a week and note the change.

Our own cells

SevenMail’s column says what is in the beta and what is planned. Nothing is marked as released before it is.

Not yet tested by hand: we read what the vendors publish. We have not installed the other apps for this page.

Mimestream, Superhuman, Spark, Readdle, Apple Mail and Apple Intelligence and their icons belong to their owners. SevenMail is not affiliated with them; their icons are shown only to say which app is meant. The facts on this page come from their own pages and policies, as read on the day shown; prices and features change.
