01Who we are and what this covers

This notice covers the website sevenmail.app and the SevenMail waitlist. The SevenMail Mac app is not released yet and collects no data today. When it is released, it comes with its own privacy policy.

02Visiting this website

When you open a page, our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. processes the technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, requested address, browser and device type. We need this to deliver the page, keep it secure and defend it against abuse (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep no access logs of our own.

We set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The pages load no fonts or scripts from other providers, except the spam check on the sign-up form.

03Spam check on the sign-up form

The sign-up form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells people from automated programs by checking technical information from your browser. Turnstile is loaded from Cloudflare only when you send the form. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare explains its processing in its own privacy policy.

04Waitlist and e-mails about SevenMail

If you sign up for the waitlist on sevenmail.app, we use your e-mail address to send you news about SevenMail: a confirmation e-mail, a welcome e-mail, invitations to the beta, updates about every two weeks (at most two a month) and one e-mail when SevenMail is available. We do not send anything else, and we do not pass your address on for advertising.

What we store

Your e-mail address, the language of the page you signed up on, the source of the link you came from (for example a social network), a personal link code, and the time of your sign-up and confirmation. When you confirm, we also store the first three parts of your IP address (the last part is cut off) and your browser's identification, as proof of your consent. If you answer the optional questions or apply for the beta, we store your answers: type of mail account, whether your Mac runs macOS 27, how much mail you get, the Gmail address you would use, your role and the text you write. If someone signs up with your personal link, we count that.

Legal basis

Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every e-mail; this does not affect what happened before.

Double opt-in

We only write to you after you clicked the confirmation link in the e-mail we sent. Addresses that are not confirmed within seven days are deleted.

No tracking

Our e-mails contain no tracking pixels and no tracked links.

Recipients (processors)

Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting of the website and the database; data location Western Europe is requested but not guaranteed) and Mailgun Technologies, Inc., a Sinch company (sending e-mail, EU region). Both are US companies. We have data processing agreements with both.

Storage period

Until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing we keep only a one-way fingerprint (hash) of your address so we can make sure we do not write to you again, and a record of your consent and withdrawal as proof. If you ask us to delete your data, everything else is removed.

05Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and a copy in a common format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw a consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live. Write to support@sevenmail.app.

06Changes

We update this notice when the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
